Where to buy a Seiko
Every watch page lists three ways to buy. They differ in price, warranty and risk.
New · authorized
Seiko’s own online store, or a dealer Seiko has authorized.
- Price: full list price, sometimes with sales.
- Warranty: Seiko’s own warranty, serviced through Seiko.
- Good for: current models, gifts, peace of mind.
New · grey market
Stores that sell new watches without Seiko’s authorization, such as Jomashop.
- Price: often well below list.
- Warranty: the store’s own warranty instead of Seiko’s.
- Good for: saving money on a current model, or Japan-market references Seiko doesn’t sell in the US.
Pre-owned
eBay, Chrono24, and owner-to-owner sales such as r/Watchexchange.
- Price: set by condition and demand; discontinued favorites can sell above their old list price.
- Warranty: usually none, unless the seller offers one.
- Good for: discontinued models like the SKX007 or SARB033.
Before you buy pre-owned
- Match the exact reference on the caseback to the listing. Seiko reuses names across many references.
- Ask for clear photos of the dial, caseback and clasp, and whether the box and papers are included.
- For automatics, ask when it was last serviced and how well it keeps time.
- Be wary of modified watches sold as original. Swapped dials, bezels and crystals are common on popular Seiko divers.
- Check the seller’s feedback and return policy before you pay, and pay with a method that offers buyer protection.
How we list stores
We link to Seiko’s own store when Seiko US sells the watch, with the list price and the date we checked it. Grey-market and pre-owned links open live searches for the exact reference, so you always see current stock. Prices, stock and warranty terms change, so the store’s own page is always the final word. Some links may earn us a commission. It never changes your price or which stores we list. See our affiliate disclosure.
